Where do you currently work?

I am currently the assistant manager at Francesca's Collections at the St. Louis Premium Outlets

Have you had any other significant communication-related jobs?

I would have to say my current job is very communication-related. I am responsible for recruiting potential candidates as well as interviewing and doing the training, my counterpart will delegate the managerial tasks at hand so I can continue to grow and develop.

What activities were you involved in at Millikin?

I am a proud alumna of Pi Beta Phi. I was also initiated into Lambda Pi Eta

Did you have a memorable MU professor that impacted you?

My most favorite professor at Millikin is Dr. Curtin [https://millikin.edu/people/nancy-curtin]. I came into the communication department in the middle of my junior year first semester and my advisor Dr. Braun left Millikin and Dr. Curtin took me in. Her classes have been the most impact and I have utilized many things she lectured on in my professional life. Gendered Communication was by far my favorite class.

I also was deeply impacted by Dr. Brandon Hensley, he lectured many of my classes in my senior year. I was able to learn and grow and develop from many of his lectures. My favorite class with him was crisis communication. However, he is no longer at Millikin. He was one of my all-time professors who genuinely cared about all of his students and their growth and development.

What are some of your accomplishments since graduating Millikin?

I'd like to say my biggest accomplishment is working with a local business called Gin World [https://ginworld.com/]. I have developed a close working relationship with the owner of the company where I have been given the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with distillers across the world. I have sat in on educational seminars and been able to work with the public on educating people about the art of gin. While this is strictly a volunteer basis, I would say this is getting my foot in the door with marketing for a brewery or distillery in the near future.

What do you like most about your job or chosen career field?

The best part of my job is working with people. I love people and I love building relationships with people I can't imagine sitting all day anymore and staying quiet. I love to be on my feet moving and helping people in any way that I can.

What advice do you have for communication students looking to go into your career?

Get involved. Network. Don't let time go by where you wish you would have gotten more involved. Networking goes a long way, you may not think so but trust me it does.

Do you have any social media that you want to share?

I have currently created my own food Instagram blog. I love baking, I love cooking, and I love trying new places all around the city! My handle is @314_eatsandtreats_
