Where do you currently work?
I am the Director of Client Service at JB Training Solutions - a training and development company. At JB Training Solutions, we build stronger leaders, clearer communicators, better presenters, and respected managers.
As Director of Client Service, I spearhead business development and lead our client service team. I joined JB Training in 2010 as the third employee - and we now have a team of 14 employees/trainers. We have a robust client portfolio that includes companies like Abbott, Lilly, Marriott, Dunkin' Brands, The Chicago Bulls/Bears/Blackhawks/Sox, etc. As the nation's foremost experts on working across generations, I helped with the launch of our book: Manager 3.0: A Millennial's Guide to Rewriting the Rules of Management. Lastly, we have expanded our course curriculum over the past decade to include over three dozen programs and made work better for almost 20,000 employees.
Have you had any other significant communication-related jobs?
Immediately after graduating from Millikin, I worked as a Leadership Consultant for Tri Delta, one of the largest National Panhellenic Conference sororities. Outside of my full time job, I occasionally sit as a Royal Commentator for local Chicago news outlets.

Did you have a memorable MU professor that impacted you?
Dr. Curtin had a profound influence on my career by introducing me to organizational development, which has been the focus of my career for almost 10 years.
What are some of your accomplishments since graduating Millikin?
Becoming a Mom and contributing to the growth of a small business
What do you like most about your job or chosen career field?
The ability to make work better for various organizations through dynamic training and development workshops. It's incredible to see that regardless of industry/job function, leaders share the same pain points.
How have your courses at Millikin helped prepare you for your career?
Millikin's emphasis on performance learning and practical application via internships have prepared me for my career. The ability to practice concepts learned in classes to student organizations was a huge learning experience.
What advice do you have for communication students looking to go into your career?
Take an international business class, treat class presentations like business presentations, constantly work to enhance your business writing skills, and start to build and maintain your professional network now.
