Millikin students provide tax filing services as part of program
Millikin University students have been volunteering to help community members prepare and file federal and state tax forms at the Decatur Public Library.
The students are providing the service as part of the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
According to Dr. Michael Brown, Millikin associate professor of accounting, the program has helped over 800 people this year, and has provided practical work experiences for the students.
