First Week at Millikin University is an integral part of the college experience for first-year students. Many activities take place throughout the week to help students become acclimated and immersed in their new Millikin home before regular classes begin.

One of the important activities that took place during this year's First Week program was the Class of 2018 Day of Action held Aug. 22-23. Day of Action is Millikin's opportunity to give back to the Decatur community by sending students into the neighborhoods for service opportunities.

This year, Millikin combined with the United Way's Day of Action to perform services at 25 different sites including the Decatur Fire Department, Dennis Lab School Garden, Good Samaritan Inn, and Easter Seals of Central Illinois.
