Millikin professor's book inspires entrepreneurs to pursue dream
As an author, Dr. J. Mark Munoz is once again boldly going where no business writer has gone before.
His ninth book, “Hispanic-Latino Entrepreneurship: Viewpoints of Practitioners,” explores the universe of 20 entrepreneurs all over the country about what obstacles they had to overcome and what helped them make their business fly.
Clinton native Jamie Rockhold, a Millikin alum who helped conduct interviews for the book as an undergraduate research fellow, said seeing how Hispanic business owners overcame hardships motivated her in the pursuit of her own career. Rockhold earned at bachelor's degree in accounting in 2014.
Munoz was born in the Philippines and is the recipient of several awards for research, writing and teaching, including a teaching excellence award in 2013 from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
