Professor Julie Kennedy joined Millikin University School of Nursing faculty in the fall of 2014. Prior to her experience at Millikin she served as a Teaching Assistant and adjunct faculty member at Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University. Currently, Professor Kennedy is completing her PhD in nursing at Illinois State University. She has over twelve years of clinical experience in oncology, medical-surgical, and hospice nursing. She has also served in leadership and educational roles in the acute care setting.
Professor Kennedy is an active member of several nursing organizations including the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN). She was recently elected to the Board of Directors for AMSN and previously served as the Legislative Coordinator. She has also assisted in writing the certification exam for medical-surgical nurses (CMSRN).
