Dr. Emily Lux earned her BA, MSW, and PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Lux has experience providing clinical services to child welfare-involved youth in residential treatment and alternative education settings; therapeutic activity to the elderly; case management and direct support to developmentally delayed adults; and clinical therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Dr. Lux’s research interests concern the effects of sexual abuse trauma on child testimony in child-protection involved youth. Her research focuses on accommodations in forensic interviewing protocol related to the neurobiological impact of trauma on a child’s ability to articulate. She applies a qualitative approach to further understand childhood trauma on non- and partial disclosure in forensic interviewing.
