Bivens has provided simulation experiences to students in all levels of education from nurse aid, paramedics, traditional undergraduate nursing as well as graduate nursing students. Bivens has served as faculty member for Senior Simulation Experience course (NU 375) at Millikin University for three semesters. This course has received high marks from students, and many students have asked for more exposure to clinical simulation. She has 35 years of nursing experience and continues to work at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She brings in real-life situations to the simulation environment to enhance learning.
