Professor Brenna Elston joined the Millikin University School of Nursing faculty in 2016. Her clinical experience includes time spent as a neurology/neurosurgery nurse at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center (Peoria, IL), and also as an orthopedic and medical-surgical nurse at Decatur Memorial Hospital. In 2017, she became a Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse. She continues to work intermittently as a staff nurse at DMH while teaching at Millikin.
Currently, Professor Elston teaches Pathophysiology for both the traditional and RN-BSN programs along with Adult Health 1. She previously taught sections of clinical for Adult Health 2 and the MENP program.
Professor Elston graduated from Millikin University with her BSN in 2011. In 2016, she completed her MSN in Nursing Education from Bradley University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from University of Missouri - Columbia. She is a current member of Sigma Theta Tau International, Epsilon Epsilon chapter.
