Dr. Amy Yeates joined Millikin University in the fall of 2016. She had previously taught for six years at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois as well as functioning as an adjunct professor for LincolnLand Community College, MacMurray College, SIU-E and Illinois State University. Amy has over 25 years of experience in Psychiatric Nursing and Nursing Education.
Dr. Yeates currently teaches Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing to both BSN and MENP students, as well as providing advising and project chair services to the DNP students. She has also taught Pharmacology at Millikin. Dr.Yeates' research focus centers on care of the psychiatric patient in the ED as well as the general hospital.
Dr. Yeates obtained her ADN from LincolnLand Community College in Springfield, her BSN from the University of Illinois at Springfield, MSN from SLU and DNP from Rush University. Dr. Yeates also works as a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in the care of mental illness in children and adolescents.
