Millikin vocal performance alumni named New Hampshire chorus artistic director
In early July 2022, the Monadnock Chorus in New Hampshire announced Millikin University alumnus Morgan Bothwell as their new artistic director. Bothwell graduated from Millikin in 2015 with a degree in vocal music performance and participated in University Choir. Additionally, he was a member of Millikin’s Delta Sigma Phi fraternity chapter.
Following his graduation from Millikin, he earned a degree from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan., before returning to the New Hampshire area for a career in choral education. Bothwell also performed in vocal ensembles and operas in the Boston and New York areas.
Currently, Bothwell teaches and conducts at Keene State University and Franklin Pierce University. As a long-time resident of Keene, New Hampshire, Bothwell was especially grateful to lead the Monadnock Chorus, which will begin its 63rd season in September.
“My family has lived in Keene for many years and I have long been a fan of the Monadnock Chorus. The chorus brings so much to the region - high-quality music and culture, of course, but also a connection with other lovers of wonderful music-making,” Bothwell remarked.
The Monadnock Chorus was founded in 1959 and welcomes singers of all ages throughout the region.
