Beth Creighton '01, Millikin University adjunct instructor of music, along with 15 Millikin student volunteers, helped create a flower garden and swing set for a severely disabled 5-year-old girl named Daley McKinney. The project was coordinated through Make-A-Wish Illinois. Over 30 volunteers helped build the swing set and flower garden in Decatur.

Make-A-Wish Illinois is a nonprofit group that enables children with life-threatening conditions to see their wishes fulfilled.

Local companies donated the supplies for Daly's garden, including concrete and planters.

Creighton received a strong response when she put out the word to Millikin music and theatre students that volunteers were needed.

Creighton serves as an accompanist at Millikin University for a variety of classes, choral ensembles and theatre productions. She also works closely with the Millikin School of Education to place all Music Education majors for their student teaching experiences during their last semester of study. Creighton received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from Millikin University in 2001.
