Millikin University alumnus Eric Burgett '12, a native of Latham, Ill., was the opening act for American country music artist Craig Morgan on Sept. 2 at the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Ill.
Burgett's band featured Millikin graduates, three of whom are from Decatur and are working in Nashville, including Jake Widenhofer '12, who plays lead guitar for Christian artist and Millikin alumnus Matthew West '99.
Burgett currently serves as adjunct instructor of piano at Belmont University in Nashville and is versed in both classical and commercial genres. After earning his Bachelor of Music degree (Piano Performance) from Millikin, Burgett received his Master of Music degree (Piano Pedagogy) from Belmont University.
Burgett also serves as a studio accompanist for The School of Nashville Ballet, music director for Glencliff United Methodist Church, accompanist at Belmont University, and adjunct piano instructor for Belmont's pre-college program, Belmont Academy.
