Rachel Beth Jackson, a sophomore musical theatre major at Millikin University, from Charlotte, Tenn., was recently featured on BroadwayWorld.com's Collegiate Theatrics online series.
The series focuses on talking to college students across the country about what remains ahead of them during the academic year.
Jackson was a 2013 First Night Most Promising Actor. She performed in her hometown with The Renaissance Players; a community theatre group that has helped young actors pursue their creative dreams.
Asked about her college theatre career at Millikin, Jackson says, "The only word to describe my time at Millikin is amazing. I have been challenged and pushed in so many ways. My growth here has been incredible."
In terms of offering advice to high school students interested in theatre, Jackson said, "It's your college experience and your future. Don't let anyone but you decide where you belong. You're the person who has to live and grow there for four years."
