Treyvon Hawkins, a Millikin University senior sports management major from Bloomington, Ill., and a starting defensive back on the Big Blue Football team, played in his first game for the Big Blue since November 2013, on Sept. 5 against Greenville College.
In a 34-16 home win over Greenville, Hawkins recorded six tackles and two interceptions. Hawkins sat out all of last season rehabbing a groin and hip injury he sustained and continued to play through during the 2013 season.
In 2013, Hawkins was second on the team in tackles (60) and interceptions (3) in 2013, and had 12 pass breakups (12).
Big Blue Head Football Coach Patrick Etherton said, "He's a senior leader. Trey's been through it all, seen it and knows what it takes."
