Student Chamber & Faculty Recital

School of Music professors Tina Nicholson, oboe, and Claire Taylor, bassoon, will team up with the student chamber group Eidolan Woodwind Quintet to present a Student and Faculty Chamber Recital on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in Kaeuper Hall.

The Eidolan Woodwind Student Woodwind Quintet (Emily Hill, flute; Mikaela Wattleworth, oboe; Cody Myhra, clarinet; Nicholas Tipsword; horn and Claire Taylor; bassoon/coach) will perform August Klughardt’s Quintet for Winds, a movement from a Danzi quintet, and Perpetual Mobile by Strauss.

Professors Tina Nicholson (oboe), Claire Taylor (bassoon), and Tatiana Shustova (piano)  will collaborate on the Poulenc Trio pour piano hautbois et bassoon. This Trio is one of Poulenc’s most popular works, and allows all three instruments to assume a soloistic style very different from the basso continuo of Telemann’s time.

This recital is free and open to the public.
