This first-rate revue captures moments from musicals that could only have been created by this famous duo, including Oklahoma!, South Pacific, Carousel, and The Sound of Music.
Meet the Cast
Holly Bender is a junior BFA Musical Theatre Major and Dance Minor from Algonquin, Illinois. Holly is making her Millikin Mainstage debut this semester in Some Enchanted Evening. She has previously been seen in All Shook Up at the Raue Center for the Arts and in We Have Apples at Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre. Holly has also worked over the summer in Mama Mia at the Metropolis Performing Arts Center. She would like to thank her family for their endless love and support! Enjoy the show!
Sami Dickerson is a Senior BFA Musical Theatre major from Round Rock, Texas, and is thrilled to be making her Millikin mainstage debut in Some Enchanted Evening. Past credits include The Guide to Being Single (Heather) at Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre, The Music Man (Ensemble), and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Ensemble) at Summer Stock Austin, and The Wizard of Oz (Ensemble) at Zilker Hillside Theatre. Sami would like to thank everyone involved in this show for the incredible experience, as well as the constant love and support. Maybe it's more than the birds ;)
Jake is excited to be performing in his 2nd Millikin University production! Jake, from Erial, New Jersey, is a sophomore BFA Musical Theatre Major with a Minor in Dance. Millikin Theatrical Credits: Chicago (Male Ensemble). Past credits include: Off-Broadway: A Midsummers Night Dream with Julie Taymor (Elemental, Vocal Soloist), Elf at Paper Mill Playhouse (Michael). Jake would like to thank his family, friends, teachers, Broadway Dreams Foundation, and Clear Talent Group for their never-ending support.
Thomas Ferro hails from Mundelein, IL, and he is a senior BFA Musical Theatre major with a minor in Dance. At Millikin, Thomas has been very fortunate to perform in the mainstages Sister Act and Chelsea Sunrise, and he was also a part of the New Musicals workshop of Propaganda: The Musical! Also, at Millikin, Thomas performed in Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre's production of The Undeniable Sound of Right Now, and he has participated in Burlesque Underground and the Millikin Cabaret Series. Outside of Millikin, Thomas has spent the past two summers performing in the Palace Theatre at Six Flags St. Louis. Meghan Hayes is a junior BFA Musical Theatre major from Rosemount, MN. Some Enchanted Evening is her Millikin Mainstage debut and she could not be more thrilled. Outside of her major, Meghan is involved in the Honors Program, Millikin CARE, and is a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity for Women. Additional credits include Big Fish (Jenny Hill) and The Little Mermaid (Ariel). Jasmine-Kalei Humphrey is a junior BA Theatre Major, Dance Minor from Paducah, Kentucky. She was previously seen in Millikin's production of Medea (Chorus) and is Junior Choreographer for Burlesque Underground. Regional credits include: American Idiot (Extraordinary Girl), Hello, Dolly! (Minnie Fay), Into the Woods (Cinderella), and Cats: The Musical (Demeter). Maybe...it's more than the birds.
Will Koski is a senior BFA Musical Theatre major from Bloomington-Normal, IL. His Mainstage credits include Miss Me, Sister Act, and The Phantom of the Opera. Other credits include Ripper the Musical (Pipe Dreams) and Sweeney Todd (Hawaii Performing Arts Festival). He is also a member of Un Bit Butter. Naomi Latta is a sophomore BFA Musical Theatre Major from Bartlett, Illinois. Her Millikin Theatrical Credits/Activities include the Female Composers Cabaret and the student-developed Web series: “Mixed Signals.” This show has been long overdue and Naomi is incredibly grateful that it was still able to get on its feet. She would like to dedicate this performance to the cast members that weren’t able to be on stage with us this time around. #maybeitsmorethanthebirds
Ethan Lupp is a senior BFA Musical Theatre major from Wauconda, Illinois. During his time at Millikin, Ethan has been lucky enough to be a part of shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Chelsea Sunrise, and Carrie the Musical. He also recently appeared in the hit web series Mixed Signals during the quarantine. He is so excited for everyone to see this show! Sarah Obert is a senior Musical Theatre major at Millikin University, originally from Oswego, Illinois. Her mainstage Millikin credits include Chloe in Chelsea Sunrise, Mother Superior in Sister Act, and Christine in The Phantom of the Opera. Some of her other theatrical credits include Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins at Magical Starlight Theatre and Janet van de Graaf in The Drowsy Chaperone at Limelight Theatre Company. Many thanks to her loved ones for supporting her dreams every step of the way. This performance is dedicated to anyone needing a little extra hope in this time. Andrew Tufano is a Junior BFA Musical Theatre Major with a dance minor. Meet the Production Team
Kevin Long is an Artist-In-Residence with Millikin University’s College of Fine Arts. In his career, he has worked in both educational and professional theatre in multiple positions including Director, Musical Director, Conductor, Music Supervisor, Vocal and Instrumental Arranger, and Accompanist. Kevin’s educational experience includes work with Old Dominion University, Christopher Newport University, and Virginia Wesleyan. His professional experience includes work with various Regional Theatre companies including The Lost Colony (Manteo, NC), Little Theatre on the Square (Sullivan, IL), and Porthouse Theatre (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio). Over the sixteen years of working at Millikin, he has served as Musical Director / Conductor for many other shows including (but not limited to) Chicago, Sister Act, Little Women, 9 to 5, and Legally Blonde. Kevin has also served as director for some MU productions including Ruthless!, Cinderella, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Phantom of the Opera.
Beth Creighton is proud to serve as the Music Director for Some Enchanted Evening. Past music director credits at Millikin include Cinderella, Little Shop of Horrors, The Phantom of the Opera, and Hair. Putting together a show amid a global pandemic is no easy task and this cast has risen to the occasion in every way imaginable. Emily Long is the choreographer for this production of Some Enchanted Evening. She hails from Decatur, IL, and is a recent graduate from Millikin University with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a Minor in Dance. During her time at Millikin, she enjoyed performing in numerous main stage performances including Nice Work If You Can Get It, Sister Act, Chelsea Sunrise, and playing Meg Giry in The Phantom of the Opera. During Emily’s senior year at Millikin, she was given the opportunity to be the choreographer for Some Enchanted Evening. She is thrilled that she was able to return to re-imagine this show for you today! Outside of Millikin, Emily has several years of professional performance credits from The Little Theatre on the Square in Sullivan, IL. She invites you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein!
Julia is a Sophomore Stage Management major from Arlington Heights, Illinois, and she is excited to be stage managing her first mainstage at Millikin, Some Enchanted Evening. Her Millikin credits include stage managing Birthday Candles and assistant stage managing Seussical the Musical and Medea.
Emily Nicholas is a first-year BFA Stage Management major from Savage, Minnesota. Some Enchanted Evening is her first Millikin show. Her other credits include stage managing Mamma Mia! at her high school and the competition one-act play The Wedding, which advanced to the state festival. Emily would like to thank the cast and crew of Some Enchanted Evening for supporting and furthering her passion for theatre.
Hayat is enjoying their first semester as the Visiting Lecturer in Sound at Millikin and is honored to be a part of this season's first production. Originally from Kansas, Hayat, comes to us as a new graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, having earned their MFA in Theatrical Sound Design and Technology. Hayat's experience and credits include theatre, opera, dance, circuses, classical and alternative musical performances, and festivals. Most notably Hayat has worked on premier productions with Jessica Lang Dance, freelance work with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Santa Fe Opera. They look forward to their time here at Millikin and is looking forward to many more productions!
Nick Dunk is a Junior Theatre: Design & Production Major from Geneseo, IL. His past Millikin productions include Pirates of Penance, Chicago The Musical, Solstice 2019, Miss Me, and The Wolves. He has credits outside of Millikin at Quad-Cities Music Guild, Richmond Hill Players, and various other non-theatre experiences in sound engineering. Nick is thankful for the opportunities in this production and is looking forward to working on other productions this season.
Kaden Cutler is a freshman working toward a BFA in Theatre: Design and Production, with an emphasis in Sound Design, from Anaheim, California. Some notable credits include sound designing Peter and the Starcatcher, Chicago, and Newsies. Kaden is thankful for the opportunity to work on Some Enchanted Evening, and to learn new skills working outdoors with sound equipment.
