Solstice: A Concert of Dance 

 Light, space, music, and movement come together to delight, provoke, and inspire us in this annual concert of original dance, performed and choreographed by students, faculty, and guest artists. 

This production is only suitable for mature audiences.

  • Single ticket prices: $10
  • Seniors 65 and older, groups or 10 or more, and other discounts available by phone or in person. Call the Kirkland Ticket Office and ask about our discounts and package deals!

  • Ticket packages are available for purchase now! Single tickets are available for purchase to donors of our Friends of Kirkland program, including Vespers! Katie Czajkowski recently appeared in Sister Act and Chelsea Sunrise here at Millikin University. At Spotlight Youth Theatre, she was seen in Bring It On and 42nd Street at Spotlight Youth Theater. At Theater Works she has been seen in Follies, Shifting Gears, Quiltmakers Gift and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. She wants to thank everyone for giving her this opportunity.

 Abigail Gawart

Abigail is delighted to be a part of Solstice at Millikin, where she is pursuing her senior year in the BFA Acting program. She was last seen as “#13” in SOTAD’s production of The Wolves directed by Elisa Gonzales. From a dreamy semester abroad studying at Shakespeare’s Globe in London to being a part of the ensemble in Nice Work If You Can Get It, Abigail is so grateful to Millikin for supplying many opportunities for growth. A proud St. Louisan, Abigail has worked with the St. Louis Muny where she has been a part of 8 productions. This includes Into the Woods, where she portrayed the role of “Snow White,” and worked alongside artists including Heather Headley, Jason Gotay, and Rob McClure. Abigail writes sketch comedy for the campus group Un Bit Butter and is enjoying her first semester on Math Club, the campus improv troupe. Abigail holds her 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certification and passionately teaches classes across the United States.

Aimee Frost is a Senior BA Music Major with a Dance Minor from Elburn, Illinois. She is ecstatic to be making her Millikin Main Stage debut! Previously she has choreographed Mamma Mia and Annie (Kaneland Arts Initiative) and has performed as dance captain in Mary PoppinsBeauty and the Beast (Kaneland Art Intiative), The Drowsy Chaperone and Shrek The Musical (Kaneland High School). She would like to thank her family and friends for always supporting her dance endeavors!

Emma Jean is thrilled to have the opportunity to be apart of another Millikin production! Emma Jean was most recently the female swing for Millikin’s very own Sister Act. Emma is an active member of the Burlesque Underground Club. Professionally, she took part in Chicago’s 9th annual one minute play festival ( Den theatre) . You may have also caught her playing a silly girl in Chicago Kids Company’s production of Beauty and the Beast (Stahl theatre), or as Paige Turner in Wedding Italiano (Palace theatre) . Other roles include Mary Poppins, Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie, Alice in The Adams Family, and Lily st. Regis in Annie. Please enjoy the show and take a moment to reflect on the world we live in today and how we can make change to shift it into a better world for all people to live in.

Paul Cushman is a Sophomore Musical Theatre Major at Millikin University. He recently appeared in Millikin Universities production of Julius Caesar as well as Pipe Dreams Studio Theatres production of The Guide to Being Single. Most recently he was in Hawaii performing in Sondheim's Company. Other credits include Flowers for Algernon (Charles Gordon), Anything Goes (Billy), Shrek the Musical (Donkey), Sound of MusicBye Bye BirdieRadium Girls, and Little Women.

Collin Bradley is a sophomore Musical Theatre Major, and is pursuing his Dance Minor as well. He recently performed in Godspell where he played Jesus, and also just finished up a production of Newsies. Other credits include Les Miserables (Marius) and Hunchback of Notre Dame (Phoebus).

Previously she has choreographed for the Find Your Light Intermediate Intensive in Madison, Wisconsin (Capital City Theatre) and danced as a member of the ensemble for shows including Hairspray, Pippin, Bring it On: the Musical, and HelloDolly! Taylor K. Porter has toured the country for two summers with Missoula Children's Theatre and has recently appeared in Millikin’s world premiere of Miss Me as Claudia. Other credits include Bette in The Undeniable Sound of Right Now and Unlatched (Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre); Super Sidekick: The Musical (Millikin Children’s Show); Emily Webb in Our Town, Young Frankenstein, Oklahoma!, and Guys and Dolls (Prairie Players Theatre).

Autumn has performed in Millikin University’s production of Sleeping Beauty with the Alabama Ballet Company, Solstice Dance Concert (2018), as well as Moscow Ballet’s The Great Russian Nutcracker in 2017. Outside of work and school, she is the Dance Program Director for the Hoogland Kids and Teens, a theater education program in Springfield, Illinois. She has choreographed and directed several productions for the Hoogland a Center for the Arts, including Matilda the Musical, Seussical the Musical, Peter Pan, Tarzan the Musical, and Shrek the Musical. She has performed in other productions with the Hoogland Center for the Arts, Springfield Muni Opera, Springfield Theatre Centre, and Springfield Ballet Company. Autumn would like to thank her friends and family for their never ending love and support.
