Tanner Hake has recently appeared in multiple shows including: Aida, The Addams Family, Beauty & the Beast, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), and Little Women at Kaukauna High School. He also been seen in Kaukauna Community Players Production of Bye Bye Birdie and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; and most recently The Cole Porter Revue with Attic Theatre. This is his Millikin Mainstage debut.

Alli Atkenson most recently appeared as Grandma in The Addams Family (Millikin Mainstage) and as a performer in Millikin’s New Musicals Immersion in January of 2016. This past summer,  Alli performed with West Virginia Public Theatre in their production of A Grand Night for Singing as Victoria. Her most recent credits include: Heidi in [title of show] (Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre); an Ensemble member for In the Heights (Governor State University); Jo in Little Women, Lucy in 13 The Musical (Stagg Theatre); and the Lead Teen Girl in Memphis (Illinois All State Theatre).

Abigail Gawart

Freshman BFA Musical Theatre

St. Louis, Missouri

Abigail is delighted to be making her Millikin Mainstage debut. Abigail has worked closely with the St. Louis Muny and has been a part of 8 productions, including Into the Woods, where she portrayed the role of Snow White. Abigail is a former member of The Muny’s touring troupes and was most recently seen in the ensemble of last summer's production of Fiddler on the Roof. Abigail has also performed on the Andrew Lloyd Webber cabaret tour of Terry Barber, former member of the Grammy earning group Chanticleer. Other credits include Morticia in The Addams Family and Philia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at Christian Brothers College. 

 

Julia Whitcomb

Junior BFA Musical Theatre                           

Belvidere, Illinois

Over the summer, Julia worked professionally at Hope Summer Repertory Theater in Holland, Michigan playing Little Inez in Hairspray and Thing 1 in The Cat in the Hat. Other roles include Fantine in Les Miserables, Lorraine in All Shook Up, Babette in Beauty and the Beast, The Chaperone in The Drowsy Chaperone, and a disciple in Godspell. Julia has been a swing in both the Millikin Mainstage production of Rough Magic and a swing in Pipe Dream Studio Theatre’s production of Venus in Fur. In 2014, Julia had the great honor of making her Broadway debut at the Minskoff theater in New York City as a finalist in The National Musical Theater Awards, aka, “The Jimmy’s”. Julia would like to thank God for all the he does and all that he is. Proverbs 3:5-6.

 

Levi Ehrmantraut

Levi Ehrmantraut is making his Millikin Mainstage debut. During his time at Millikin, he appeared in the ensemble of A Nightmare on Backstreet and was the male swing in What I Didn't Learn In College at Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre. Other notable roles include Tobias Ragg in Sweeney Todd, Bert in Mary Poppins, and Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical.

 

Cortez Emerson

Cortez Emerson appeared in the Hannibal High School Theatre Group’s production of Beauty and the Beast, Bye Bye Birdie, Anything Goes, and as Seaweed in Hairspray. At the Hannibal Lagrange Theatre, he appeared as Cosmo Brown in Singin' in the Rain and as Aladdin in Aladdin. This is his Millikin Mainstage debut.

Nathaniel was most recently seen as Seaweed in Hairspray at Southwestern College Summer Theatre Festival. He has also appeared on the Millikin Mainstage in Blood Wedding (Male Swing), The Addams Family (Male Ancestor), and Solstice: A Concert of Dance. Additional credits include: The Addams Family (Lucas), The Little Mermaid (Sebastian), and Willy Wonka (The Candy Man) at Southwestern College Summer Theatre Festival; Spamalot, RENT, and Children Of Eden on the Southwestern College Mainstage; The Nutcracker (Nutcracker) with the Edge Performing Arts Center; and White Christmas, Fiddler of the Roof, Oh What a Lovely War, and A Bold Stroke for a Wife at Winfield High School.

 

Jacob Melssen

Jacob Melssen has appeared on the Millikin Mainstage in The World Goes ‘Round, Peter Pan, and Rough Magic. This summer, he made his professional debut at The Little Theatre on the Square in Sullivan IL, where he was seen in Shrek The Musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Chicago, All Shook Up, and Sister Act. Sean T. Morrissey

Director/Choreographer

Artist in Residence - Millikin University

Sean has been the Director of Dance at Millikin since 1999.  He was the recipient of the Times Newspaper’s Outstanding Choreography award for his work on the Porthouse Theatre production of Dames at Sea and the Connecticut Critics Circle Best Choreographer Award for his work on the Candlewood Playhouse production of West Side Story. He earned critical acclaim for his direction of the Porthouse Theatre production of A Little Night Music. As a director/choreographer, Sean’s work includes Lucky StiffSweet CharityMe and My GirlNo No NanetteSugarDamn YankeesGuys and DollsMy Favorite YearKiss Me KateDrowsy ChaperoneThe World Goes 'Round, and Grand Hotel. Other choreography credits include CarouselThe Merry WidowBrigadoonPippinPump Boys and Dinettes, and Cabaret. In addition to musicals, Sean has choreographed 21 concert works for the Millikin stage. As a performer, Sean appeared in the original Broadway cast of the Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens production of A Christmas Carol featuring choreography by Tony Award winner, Susan Stroman, the European tour of 42nd Street, the Vienna company of West Side Story, the Asian tour of South Pacific, and regional productions of CabaretMe and My GirlBig RiverAnything GoesSingin’ In the Rain, Oklahoma!, and Gypsy. Sean is a graduate of Syracuse University and a proud member of Actors Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC).

Mary Black is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Millikin University and is the Director of the School of Theatre and Dance. Recent Millikin credits include Lighting Design for Rough Magic, Scenic Designer and Technical Director for The Magic Pinafore, Peter PanThe Ladies Man, Legally Blonde: The Musical, and String. Previous design credits include RENT and Hamlet for the Station Theatre and several productions for the Decatur Park District Best of Summer Stock program.  Previous technical credits include work for Indiana University’s Opera and Theatre programs, Iowa Summer Repertory Theatre, Brown County Playhouse, and University of Iowa’s Opera and Theatre programs. Mary earned her MFA in Technical Theatre from Indiana University.

Jana is Associate Professor/Costume Director for the Department of Theatre & Dance. Selected professional credits include costume work for Universal Pictures, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Kansas City Ballet, The Station Theatre, and The Little Theatre on the Square. Jana earned her MFA in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has been designing for Millikin since 1999.

 

Matt Albrecht

Matt Albrecht is a lighting designer from Madison, WI. Matt has had the opportunity to work in theaters across the United States. Some of his design highlights include The Greeks (Madison Repertory Theatre), The Water Engine (University Theatre), Into the Woods (Houston's Center Stage Theatre), The Temperamentals (Celebration Theatre), and Annie (Madison Theatre Guild). Matt has also had the opportunity to work with Peninsula Players in Door County, WI. Matt would like to thank the cast and crew for all of their hard work. 

 

Sean Deener

This is Sean’s first year sound designing with the SOTAD at Millikin. He currently is and has been the Assistant Technical Director and in house sound engineer at Kirkland Fine Arts Center since August of 2013, and is happy to be a part of the Nice Work If You Can Get It production at KFAC. Before becoming ATD at Kirkland, some of his previous work included freelance designing sound and lights for various local theaters and schools in central Illinois. In the summer of 2012 and 2013, he was sound designer and engineer at The Little Theatre on the Square in Sullivan, IL, working on shows such as GreaseSeven Brides for Seven BrothersPirates of Penzance9 to 5Anything GoesMonty Python’s Spamalot, and many others. Lately, aside from shows at KFAC, he has been part of Gerhard Sound and Lighting, providing for local corporate events, local bands, and the Juvae Jazz Society’s annual Central Illinois Jazz Festival. “I would like to thank the School of Theatre and Dance for asking me to be a part of this show, and I hope everyone enjoys it!”

Elizabeth Pillow most recently appeared in What I Didn’t Learn in College at Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre in the spring semester of 2016. She also performed in the Evansville Civic Theatre’s performance of Xanadu, and in the Warrick County Summer Musical Children of Eden.
