Cello Day is an intensive program for intermediate to advanced cellists of all ages. Participants are expected to bring one or two specific goals to achieve, and we will provide tools and tips for advancement. This is an excellent opportunity to hone and practice performing your ILASTA and MTNA competition repertoire.
Special guests to include Sarah Hansen from Bradley University and Ruth Marshall from the St. Paul Conservatory of Music, and Hamline University

Schedule (subject to change)
9:30 am: Welcome and registration
10 am -10:15 am: Warm-ups, ice breakers, and practice techniques; All students meet with faculty in Room 110
10:20 - 11:00: Individual practice time and mini-lessons; Prof. Catron and Ms. Hansen will be giving short mini-lessons.
11:00 -11:50: Masterclass in Kaeuper Hall
11:50 - 12:40: Lunch and extra practice time for all participants; Please notify us in advance of any dietary restrictions
12:45 - 1:30 Faculty recital
1:45 - 2:30: Guest clinic with Ruth Marshall
2:30 - 3:00: Practice and prepare for the final concert
3:00 - 4:00: Final Performances, Pictures, and Goal Assessment. Cookie reception and goodbye until next year
Faculty reserve the right to dismiss any participant who is in possession of weaponry or illegal drugs or who is disrespectful or otherwise disruptive during the events. Any medical costs incurred during the day will be billed to the primary parent or guardian of the participant. Millikin and its Faculty are not responsible for any loss or damage of property or injury during Millikin Cello Day. Students are expected to bring their own instrument, bow, and rock stop and to bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
