The Millikin University School of Theatre and Dance is accepting applications for a full-time, Visiting Instructor in Theatre History and Directing for the 2017-2018 academic year.  Millikin is a small, private, liberal arts institution of approximately 1800 students located in Decatur, Illinois.  The nationally recognized School of Theatre and Dance is a vibrant and highly visible component of the campus community serving 220 students in six degree programs including B.F.A.s in Acting, Design and Production, Musical Theatre, Stage Management, Theatre Administration and a B.A. in Theatre.  Responsibilities will include teaching of a two-course theatre history sequence, introductory script analysis, and directing. Candidates interested in directing Anne Washburn’s Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play in the mainstage production season are especially desirable. Successful candidates will be highly collaborative.

Required qualifications: Ph.D. in theatre or theatre-related field (ABD considered). Strongly preferred qualifications include previous university teaching experience, professional or university directing experience, and experience serving diverse student populations.
