The Millikin University School of Theatre and Dance is accepting applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor in Dance to begin in August 2020. Millikin is a small, private, liberal arts institution of approximately 1900 students located in Decatur, Illinois. The nationally recognized School of Theatre and Dance is a vibrant and highly visible component of the campus community serving 260 students in five degree programs including B.F.A.s in Acting, Design and Production, Musical Theatre, and Stage Management and a B.A. in Theatre and Performance Studies, as well as minors in dance and theatre. This fall, the department will move into the new $29 million Center for Theatre and Dance.
Responsibilities for fall 2020 will include teaching Ballet as part of an existing ballet sequence. Additional courses in ballet or other dance disciplines may be available in future semesters. Successful candidates will possess an M.F.A. or equivalent professional experience and will be highly collaborative. Preferred qualifications include previous university teaching experience and experience serving diverse student populations.
