As of Tuesday, March 1st, Millikin will no longer require masks to be worn on campus. Keep in mind, those individuals who prefer to wear a mask, who experience symptoms, who come into direct contact with individuals who have tested positive, or who are immunocompromised are encouraged to continue masking. Cleaning & Sanitizing

ARAMARK custodial staff will continue to clean and sanitize classrooms, common areas, restrooms and general office spaces at the end of each workday and throughout the day in high traffic areas. Cleaning and disinfecting materials will be made available in classrooms, by request only, in order to allow for awareness trained faculty and staff to clean areas between uses, particularly high touch points.

While Facility Services will continue to clean office and work spaces, additional care should be taken to clean non-public, shared spaces within private office space. Each office area will be provided with Oxivir Tb for regular cleaning throughout the day. To request cleaning solution for your office, employees can create a Facilities Work Order.

Contact Tracing

Millikin will cease formal contact tracing as of March 7, 2022. Students should contact faculty directly for any needed academic accommodations and faculty are asked to support students who are ill. Automatic notices to faculty will be discontinued. It will be critical moving forward that our entire community support the ”stay home if you are sick” model.

In the event of a residential student becoming a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case, temporary isolation spaces in Huss House will be utilized. If necessary, these spaces may also be utilized to assist with a campus quarantine of an asymptomatic contact of a confirmed case. It is hoped that asymptomatic quarantined contacts will safely stay in their residential unit with support from Student Affairs.

COVID-19 Screening

Students, faculty and staff who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 will be required to test weekly through the Millikin SHIELD Clinic in Dolson Hall. Direct contacts, symptomatic individuals and those needing testing for other reasons may also access the clinic free of charge. Dependents and partners of Millikin students, faculty and staff may also choose to test at the clinic for a nominal charge that is assessed to the employee or student account. Hand Hygiene

Washing our hands is one of the easiest and most important things we can do to stay healthy and stop the spread of bacteria and viruses. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing or touching your face, or when entering and exiting the workplace. Signs illustrating proper hand washing technique are posted in restrooms.

If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.

Hand sanitizer dispensers (100+) have been installed by entrances and other specific locations in all facilities across campus. Liquid hand sanitizer bottles will be placed at locations that receive people, are high traffic and high contact areas.
