Hailed "one of the best pop-jazz vocal groups in the world" by the San Francisco Chronicle, vocal group m-pact is respected worldwide as a cutting edge trailblazer in the realm of vocal music.

Touring renowned fine arts halls and jazz festivals across four continents, m-pact has performed with pop superstars Sheryl Crow, Boyz II Men, Kenny G, Liza Minnelli, Babyface, Rick Springfield and Jackson Browne to name a few, as well as with jazz legends from Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Bobby McFerrin, Take 6, and the New York Voices to the Woody Herman Orchestra and the Maynard Ferguson Big Band.

The group will be performing at Kirkland Fine Arts Center on Millikin University's campus on Oct. 3. It will be a special event for m-pact member and Millikin alumnus Jarrett Johnson '01.

"It's just exciting to come home and have as many friends and family come to see the show," said Johnson. Johnson has been a member of the group since 2010.

Johnson is also a founding member of Chapter 6, an award-winning a cappella group which had its start in Millikin's choral department.

"Millikin really helped prepare me to network and to move through the industry as a person who is not only competent with their craft but able to be someone dependable, reliable and able to execute what's needed to be done," said Johnson.
