Housekeeping Manager at the Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center
Alpha Tau Omega
I am the housekeeping manager at the Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center. It is my job to ensure all the guest rooms are ready, public spaces look presentable, scheduling projects, order items we need to be successful, conduct check-ins with new hire team members to ensure they are enjoying their time and if they need anything. In December 2018 I was awarded Manager of the quarter for quarter 4( which is from the months of October-November) and its for a manager that exemplifies leadership, and Blue energy day to day.
Millikin set me up for success by allowing me to challenge myself. I was a Business Management and Marketing double major. During my junior and senior year of I began taking entrepreneurship courses and started getting involved with Agile Projects through the entrepreneurship center. Doing so I worked with multiple groups to help local businesses with marketing and development, one in particular was Joe-Joes Salad dressing.
Attending Millikin introduced me to my fraternity brother of Alpha Tau Omega. They were instrumental in ensuring I had the confidence to apply for Hilton internships, and a management development program that led me to the position that I am in today. Without Millikin I would not have gained the confidence I have today, wouldn’t have helped start a new coffee shop “Blue Brew”, wouldn’t have learned as much as I did in the entrepreneurship center.
