Dear Millikin Students, Staff, and Faculty:
Yesterday afternoon (August 26, 2021), Governor Pritzker announced a vaccination mandate and indoor mask mandate for all employees and students of Illinois colleges and universities. Both public and private institutions are included as part of the mandate. Those who are unwilling or unable to get the vaccine are required to test a minimum of once a week.
Millikin University has strongly encouraged vaccination of its students and employees since the vaccines became widely available this spring. We have also had an indoor mask mandate since August 2nd. Our campus policy asks all unvaccinated individuals, whether students or employees, to be tested at our on-campus testing site once a week. Thus, Millikin has already put into place the necessary elements for public health and safety as now mandated by Governor Pritzker. To ensure Millikin’s compliance with the state mandate, Millikin now requires all individuals – students and employees – to submit proof of vaccination or an exemption form to the University.
- Students can upload their vaccination records on myMillikin using the “Upload Immunizations” icon. Contact the Student Affairs Office for exemption forms or view the form here.
- Employees can email a copy of their vaccination card to HR@millikin.edu or hand-deliver a copy of their card to Human Resources in Shilling Hall, Room 205. Contact Human Resources for exemption forms or view the form here.
While this vaccination mandate should not come as a surprise given the contagious nature of the Delta variant of COVID-19, it does come suddenly. Because of that, we will work diligently to help all those who wish to be vaccinated find a time and place to do so before the Governor’s deadline of September 5, 2021. Towards that end, Millikin has scheduled an additional vaccination clinic for September 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the University Commons.
