Theatre persists amid COVID-19 pandemic

A year after the then-novel COVID-19 Pandemic canceled all Millikin University events, including in-person classes, the Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre was determined to continue their mission to bring meaningful, thought-provoking messages to the Decatur community, even if it meant recording their performance to be viewed virtually.

Millikin sophomore finds sense of family and community on campus

All prospective college students find different schools appealing for different reasons. Some enjoy the vast amount of people they'll meet while others appreciate the anonymity of the lecture hall. This was not the case for current Millikin University sophomore JJ Pierce from Davenport, Iowa, who found solace in the small class sizes and close relationships to the faculty.

Celebratory event marks new home for Millikin's School of Theatre & Dance

A ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 17, 2020, marked a celebration of Millikin University's newest building, the Center for Theatre & Dance. The celebratory event of the new home for Millikin's College of Fine Arts and School of Theatre & Dance was also an opportunity to thank the supporters of the project and the community of Decatur, Ill.

Millikin student hones her craft in Theatre Design and Production

When Katelynn Watkins, senior design and production major from Pekin, Ill., enrolled at Millikin University almost four years ago she admittedly did not know anything about the School of Theatre & Dance's costume shop. Now in the fall semester of her senior year, Watkins is ready to take the theatre production world by storm when she graduates in spring 2021.
