Alyssa Farmer is an artist on a mission. She hopes to one day run her own art studio in Chicago and have an opportunity to do what she recently did on Feb. 15 – teach painting classes and workshops.

An eye-opening conversation on the "Browning of the Midwest"

Millikin University invites the local community to an eye-opening conversation with acclaimed writer Dr. Santiago Vaquera-Vásquez on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. in the Doug and Diane Oberhelman Center for Leadership Performance, located on the 1st floor of the University Commons on Millikin's campus. The event is free and open to the public.

On Monday, Dec. 3, Millikin University's Oberhelman Center for Leadership Performance at the University Commons was filled with holiday cheer as students and faculty had the opportunity to learn about various international holidays while enjoying free food, music, crafts and sleigh rides.

Annual event brings hunger and homelessness awareness to local community

Cold and wintry conditions couldn't keep a group of Millikin University students from bringing awareness about homelessness to the local community as Millikin's Human Service Connection and the Macon County Continuum of Care hosted its 9th annual Box City event on Nov. 9.

MU student organizations, athletics, faculty and staff come together to support community

Millikin University has had a long tradition of success when it comes to collecting food items to support the annual WSOY Community Food Drive in Decatur, Ill. The Food Drive helps as many food banks as possible by encouraging the local community to give canned non-perishable goods or monetary donations. Last year, over 1.52 million pounds of food was collected.
