Millikin event showcases breadth and depth of Student Research and Creativity

It's a day when no classes are held, but it doesn't mean the learning stops.

Millikin University's Celebrations of Scholarship is the culmination of the academic year; an all-day event that puts the outstanding achievements of students from all majors front and center for the entire campus community to witness. It's a forum that not only recognizes academics, it honors personal success.

Campus community comes together to celebrate academic accomplishments

At the end of every April, the Millikin University campus community comes together to celebrate the academic accomplishments of its students at the annual Distinguished Faculty Lecture and Honors Convocation. This year's event, held on April 25, recognized the outstanding work of students and faculty during the 2018-19 academic year.

Business Experience Fund provides financial assistance for students securing internships

Craig Austin, of Oreana, Ill., aspires to become a corporate accountant, and his journey to that goal is off to a good start as the junior accounting major will be working as a tax intern this summer at the Ameren corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Mo.

Competition features performances from Millikin's top three music performing students

Millikin University's Hollis Prize is the highest award that may be received by a student instrumentalist or vocalist within the School of Music. The 17th annual Hollis Prize Competition was held on Saturday, April 6 at Kaeuper Hall in Perkinson Music Center on Millikin's campus. The competition featured performances from Millikin University's top three music performing students.

Millikin announces Fall Academic All-Conference Honorees

Millikin University, in conjunction with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), has announced its recipients for the Jack Swartz Award and the CCIW Academic All-Conference team for fall 2018.

Junior football linebacker Matt Brown (Champaign, Central H.S.) and senior women's soccer player Taylor Hartman (St. Anne, Herscher H.S.) were selected as the Millikin recipients of the Jack Swartz award.

Tabor School of Business scholars awarded endowed scholarships

Students from Millikin University's Tabor School of Business were recognized for their achievements in the classroom and demonstrated leadership on campus Dec. 10 during a presentation of the Nims Associates, Inc., John "The Penguin" Bingham and Sharon T. Alpi Scholarships as well as the R. Michael Campbell Memorial Scholarship for Entrepreneurship.
