Millikin University and Richland Community College (RCC) have entered into a new agreement that will allow RCC nursing graduates to seamlessly transfer to Millikin University and complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The agreement was made official during a press conference at Richland Community College on May 8.

Millikin University's Celebrations of Scholarship is the culmination of the academic year; an all-day event that puts the outstanding achievements of students from all majors front and center for the entire campus community to witness. Former L.A. Times reporter, storyteller and nationally-acclaimed author Sam Quinones will visit Millikin University on Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. to give a talk on his most recent book, "Dreamland: The True Tale of America's Opiate Epidemic."
Dr. Julie Bates, assistant professor of English at Millikin University, has been named the recipient of the 2019 Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) Outstanding Dissertation Award in Technical Communication for her dissertation, "Toward an Interventionary Rhetoric for Technical Communication Studies."
Millikin University has been named among the top ten best colleges for jobs in Illinois for 2019 according to a ranking published by Zippia, a career advice website dedicated to helping recent college graduates with their career choices.
Millikin University is deeply saddened to announce the death of Dr. Stephen Widenhofer, professor of music, who served as director of the Millikin School of Music from 2003-2017. Dr. Widenhofer passed away on Jan. 1, 2019 at the age of 67.
