Millikin student newspaper wins four ICPA Awards

Millikin University's student-run newspaper, the Decaturian, won four awards at the Illinois College Press Association (ICPA) annual convention, held Feb. 17-18 in Chicago. 

The Decaturian staff received honorable mention for General Excellence in the division for non-dailies with a circulation of less than 4,000.

Performance Learning Shapes Finals

Finals week at Millikin University recently came to a close, and as a culmination to the fall semester, a group of literature majors took the opportunity to present their Capstone research projects to an audience of fellow students and faculty on Dec. 13.

English education majors publish tabletop gaming research

Millikin University English education students Matthew Gremo and Ryan Morgan recently published a peer-reviewed journal article in the Minnesota English Journal of their research on implementing tabletop gaming into literature and literacy instruction.

The Game Plan

The end of a semester is a time for students to reflect on lessons learned and academic achievements. Recently, a group of Millikin University undergraduates in a new course, titled Advanced Game Writing and Analysis, turned their lessons and ideas into achievements by engaging in the art of game design. The students created over 30 games, half of which were debuted on Dec. 14 to the Millikin campus community.
