Students present research utilizing digital technology

Millikin University's Celebrations of Scholarship is the culmination of the academic year. It's an all-day event that puts the outstanding achievements of students from all majors front and center for the entire campus community to witness. The event is a forum that not only recognizes the results of Performance Learning, it honors personal success.

Millikin University has received a generous gift of $100,000 from Dr. Paul and Shirley Stanley to support Millikin's new Center for Theatre & Dance. In addition to the $100,000 contribution, the Stanleys also made a $50,000 contribution toward the project during Millikin's "Transform MU" capital campaign.

Millikin students gain invaluable experience with research study

Each year, the results of the Point-in-Time (PIT) survey and Housing Inventory Count (HIC) are collected to provide data on people in communities who are experiencing homelessness, including both sheltered and unsheltered populations. The data helps social service agencies and the federal government track local needs.

Virtual Celebration to honor Millikin Class of 2020

Millikin University will stream a virtual graduate celebration for spring 2020 graduates on Sunday, May 17.

Millikin President Dr. Patrick E. White will preside over the celebration, which will be streamed on the University's Facebook page beginning at 2 p.m. CST.

Millikin University was recently featured on a podcast presented by NowDecatur.com's Byers & Co. that highlights local businesses in the central Illinois community.

Millikin President Dr. Patrick E. White was the featured guest as he spoke on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic including Millikin's decision to push back its deposit deadline, virtual admission visits and how the university is adapting to online learning.

How Millikin students are adapting to online learning

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought forth a challenging and rapidly changing time for Millikin University and higher education institutions across the country.

Certainly no one expected the world to stop halfway through the spring 2020 semester, but the response from the Big Blue community has been positive and uplifting as students and faculty have helped one another adapt to distance learning.
