Constitution Day panel features members of local media

The term "fake news" is something that has become widely used over the last four years and has generated many discussions about disinformation in conjunction with mainstream journalism. Millikin University's Department of History and Political Science brought this topic to the forefront as part of its annual Constitution Day event on Sept. 17.

Madeline Bethard, a senior communications major from Decatur, Ill., transferred from Richland Community College prior to the start of her junior year. At first, she was having a difficult time adjusting to her transfer. Bethard was excited to meet new people and get to know the students at Millikin, but was concerned she wouldn't find new friendships right away.

Recent gift moves Nick Fund to official endowed fund status within Millikin

And although Sophia and her family will never recover from Nick's loss, she has managed to turn tragedy into a life-saving mission statement.

Millikin student continues initiative in memory of brother

Millikin University student Sophia Schwalbach has started a new chapter in helping increase awareness about fire safety on campus. The junior communication major from Decatur, Ill., hosted the 2nd annual "Nick Drive" in the Doug and Diane Oberhelman Center for Leadership Performance, located in the University Commons, on May 7.
