Dr. Victoria Bam brings global health perspective to the classroom

Teams of Millikin University students are gathered in a classroom on the 1st floor of the Leighty-Tabor Science Center trying to find solutions for health-related issues on a global scale. As the teams huddle to discuss their solutions, Dr. Victoria Bam can only watch and admire the effort her students are putting into the project.

Students in Millikin University's School of Education are put in a unique position to gain hands-on field experiences starting their very first semester as well as benefit from co-teaching opportunities. All of these experiences lead to students who are prepared to be teachers and are qualified to enter the workforce right after graduation.

If you ever see someone around campus dancing at the most random times, throwing the "OK" sign around too many times to count, or making some great beats and pretending to play the drums - you most likely have met Millikin University junior nursing major Marcus Hayes.

The Joliet, Ill., native is well-known for his high energy, contagious smile and dedication to his passions and studies.
