Tabor School of Business establishes Dean's Business Council

Dr. Najiba Benabess, dean of the Tabor School of Business at Millikin University, has been researching ways to advance and grow the Tabor School of Business. In keeping with the institution's mission of Performance Learning and program development, Dr. Benabess turned to Millikin business graduates to establish the Dean's Business Council.

Science Entrepreneurship Speaker Series focuses on job creation

The Millikin University Institute for Science Entrepreneurship (ISE), a signature program of Millikin's Center for Entrepreneurship, is pleased to announce its speaker series for the fall 2017 semester. This fall, all presentations will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the new University Commons on Millikin's campus. Presentations are free and open to the public, and no tickets or reservations are required.

Student-run business to be food innovation and entrepreneurship laboratory

Blue Brew, a Millikin University student-run coffee shop, is set to open its doors in August 2017. The shop will be housed in the Hickory Point Bank & Trust building, located at 225 N. Water St. in downtown Decatur, Ill.

Millikin Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship course to be held in Italy

In July 2016, Millikin University partnered with National Foodworks Services to create a food innovation and entrepreneurship course offered for the spring 2017 semester. The course was also made possible through a grant from the Lumpkin Family Foundation. The course was held at National Foodworks Services in Decatur, Ill.

Millikin Wire: Madison Ciaccio

Madison Ciaccio, a senior art therapy major from Mahomet, Ill., is the 2017 Robert Harrison Crowder Artist-in-Residence at Blue Connection, Millikin's student-run retail art gallery. She is currently studying painting and drawing, and works under the guidance of Professor Lyle Salmi, chair of the Art Department at Millikin. Ciaccio will showcase her artwork at Blue Connection from May 22 – June 30.

In recognition of high school students whose ideas and accomplishments are inspirational, Millikin University, Illinois State University and Pontiac Township High School are partnering to present the 3rd annual Celebrating High School Innovators Competition (CHSI).
