Millikin University has operated under the philosophy of providing an education that combines theory with practice through a unique experience called Performance Learning. Through immersive experiences such as internships, co-teaching, running a business, presenting research to experts, and performing in front of audiences, Millikin students find new ways to live out their learning and reap the rewards of their hard work.
Millikin University has been awarded a nurse anesthetist traineeship grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The grant is in the amount of $19,433 and was announced on June 16 by U.S. Rep. and Millikin alumnus Rodney Davis '92 (R-Ill.).
Real-world projects are an essential component of Millikin University's Performance Learning curriculum. This is especially true in the Tabor School of Business where a group of students recently worked with the government of Ecuador to develop a U.S. market entry strategy for Ecuadorian handicrafts.
Millikin University received top honors in the 2017 "Let's Keep Decatur Bee-utiful" contest. Millikin won 1st place in the "Large Business" category and earned the "Lowe's Best In Show Award."
Millikin University has been ranked by Student Loan Report as one of the Top 250 Private Colleges that Offer the Most Creative Arts Scholarship Money.
Hundreds of private schools were analyzed in the new study and were evaluated based solely on the amount of creative arts scholarship aid awarded. Millikin was ranked 27th.
In recognition of high school students whose ideas and accomplishments are inspirational, Millikin University, Illinois State University and Pontiac Township High School are partnering to present the 3rd annual Celebrating High School Innovators Competition (CHSI).
