Millikin Chili Bowl Fundraiser supports Good Samaritan Inn

Millikin University's annual "Empty Chili Bowl" fundraiser has grown into a popular holiday event around campus and the local community. Ceramics students in Millikin University's Art Department made over 180 chili bowls for this year's event and sold them for $10 each with sales benefiting the programs of the Good Samaritan Inn of Decatur, Ill.

The Millikin University Institute for Science Entrepreneurship, a signature program of Millikin's Center for Entrepreneurship, will continue its Fall 2016 Speaker Series on Tuesday, Nov. 15, featuring keynote speaker Parry Dixon, director of economic research at Archer Daniels Midland Company.

Victory sends Big Blue Volleyball to NCAA Tournament

The Millikin volleyball team defeated Elmhurst College 3-0 in the Championship Match of the 2016 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament on Nov. 5 in Decatur, Ill. The victory earned the Big Blue the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Millikin University senior sociology major Philip Ganley of Decatur, Ill., was honored as Millikin's recipient of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois' Student Laureate Award for 2016.

Millikin University celebrated its 101st Homecoming Sept. 30 – Oct. 2. On Friday, Sept. 30, Millikin Alumni Award recipients and Athletic Hall of Fame inductees were honored at a celebratory dinner and program at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel.

Several of the Award recipients and Athletic Hall of Fame inductees took time to reflect back on their time at Millikin, share what Millikin University means to them and how it felt to be back on campus for Homecoming.
