Millikin University wrestlers are helping make a difference in the local Decatur (Ill.) community by working with members of the Decatur Police Department and how the department approaches public safety.
Two former Millikin University football players turned coaches recently met on the opposing sidelines for a matchup between their respective teams. Jeff Monken, Class of 1989, currently serves as the head coach at Army who hosted Miami University (Ohio) on Sept. 25, whose head coach is Chuck Martin, Class of 1990. Army won the ball game 23-10 improving its record to 4-0.
The Millikin University women's volleyball team is off to a fast start for the 2021 season starting 10-1, including going 4-0 in the Millikin Invitational as well as earning a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) victory over No. 15 Carthage College on Sept. 15.
Millikin University is pleased to announce the five newest members to the Millikin Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2021 class will be honored during the Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 3, during Millikin University's 2021 Homecoming Celebration.
Millikin University senior Bradan Birt, of Epworth, Iowa, was named to the 2020-21 Academic All-America® Men's At-Large Second Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Returning to competition in January of 2021, the Millikin University Women's basketball team recorded one of its most successful seasons in recent memory by winning the 2021 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Basketball Tournament Championship defeating Illinois Wesleyan 72-59. It was the first CCIW Tournament Championship for Millikin since 2005.
Millikin University, in conjunction with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), announced its Jack Swartz Award Recipients and the CCIW Academic All-Conference team for the Spring season of 2021 on June 7.
The Millikin University baseball team defeated North Central College 4-3 on May 22 to win the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament and earn the school's first trip to the NCAA Tournament. Millikin had already been selected as an NCAA Regional host so the Big Blue will get to stay home for the NCAA Tournament.
Millikin University senior softball pitcher Aly Armstrong, who recently earned a business management degree, has helped lead the Big Blue to unfamiliar territory this spring.
