Through investment class, students experience real risk and real reward

It's a Monday afternoon in early October on the campus of Millikin University. Classes and activities are off and running as the beginning of another busy week takes shape. At the very same time, several business students are sitting in ADM-Scovill Hall tracking worldly events that could affect the almost 50 domestic equity stocks they are actively managing.

Millikin nursing students honored at Legacy of the Lamp ceremony

Florence Nightingale set a standard of caring for all nurses to follow. Often called "the Lady with the Lamp," Nightingale paved the way for the heroic work of nurses today. Her compassion set her apart from others as she gained her famous moniker for checking in on her patients by lamplight, often writing letters to loved ones at home on their behalf.

Fair gives Millikin students the chance to have real conversations with employers

On Sept. 29, Millikin University's Center for Academic & Professional Performance (CAPP) hosted their annual fall Career & Internship Fair inside the University Commons. The fair featured more than 30 prospective employers across diverse industries and regions, helping students explore a variety of future career options.

Former Millikin teammates turned coaches meet on opposing sidelines

Two former Millikin University football players turned coaches recently met on the opposing sidelines for a matchup between their respective teams. Jeff Monken, Class of 1989, currently serves as the head coach at Army who hosted Miami University (Ohio) on Sept. 25, whose head coach is Chuck Martin, Class of 1990. Army won the ball game 23-10 improving its record to 4-0.

Washington Monthly names Millikin a Best Bang for the Buck Midwest university

Millikin University has been recognized by Washington Monthly in its 2021 College Guide and Rankings, released on Aug. 30, as being a top Bachelor's College and a Best Bang for the Buck Midwest university.

Millikin recognized for Value, Social Mobility and Undergraduate Nursing

U.S. News & World Report has recognized Millikin University as a leading institution in higher education in its 2022 "Best Colleges" guidebook, released on Sept. 13, 2021. Millikin is ranked No. 12 in the Best Regional Colleges in the Midwest category, making Millikin the highest ranked college in Illinois on this list.
