All 94 issues of Millikin’s yearbook, Millidek, covering the years from 1906 to 1999 — approximately 20,000 pages — are now available through an online archive site. Access to the site is free, with no charge for downloading the yearbooks onto any device. A keyword search feature makes it quick and easy to search the digitized books. The digitization project was sponsored by the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI).
The goal: To raise $300,000 for annual student scholarships in three days from alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the university.
The result: More than $365,000 was donated during the period from April 29-May 1, with gifts still being accepted through the end of MU’s fiscal year, June 30. The outpouring of gifts from more than 1,000 donors topped a previous two-day blitz in spring 2014 that raised more than $200,000.
