Millikin graduates to be honored at 2018 Winter Commencement

Millikin University will recognize over 120 graduates for its 2018 Winter Commencement ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at Kirkland Fine Arts Center on Millikin's campus.

Passion for helping others drives Millikin nursing major

Nick Cravatta is a second semester junior nursing major at Millikin University. The Sullivan, Ill., native went to Lakeland Community College for the first two years of his college career and then searched for a four-year school to transfer to.

Though Cravatta applied to multiple colleges, once he visited Millikin's campus he knew that the Big Blue community was the place for him.

Millikin clarinet professor teaches the evolving field of music

In order to grow as a musician David Cook believes experiences are important as well as reflecting on what you learn.

Cook is the new assistant professor of clarinet at Millikin University's School of Music where he teaches courses on applied clarinet, clarinet methods, chamber music, music theory and aural skills.

U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis and Democratic challenger Betsy Dirksen Londrigan to debate Oct. 22

Millikin University will host a debate between candidates for the 13th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) and Democratic challenger Betsy Dirksen Londrigan, on Monday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. The hour-long debate will be held in the Bob and Debi Johnston Banquet Rooms located on the 3rd floor of the University Commons on Millikin's campus.

Millikin honored for growth on campus and impact in the community

Millikin University received the Business Expansion of the Year Award at the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce 2018 Chamber Awards held Sept. 13 at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel in Decatur, Ill.

Traditional undergraduate student enrollment up by 3.6 percent

This fall, a total of 2,001 undergraduate students will engage in Performance Learning at Millikin University, both in and outside the classroom. The total amount of undergraduate students for fall 2018 is the largest number at Millikin since fall 2015.
