Make formal presentations to students regarding professional employment opportunities. Students benefit from the insights of a company representative and, as a recruiter, you will benefit from an informed candidate pool.
The Career Center serves as a central location to post and promote internship opportunities to students. Interns bring new energy and a fresh perspective to the workplace. Additionally, Millikin interns offer technical, research, communication, and problem-solving skills. Internships allow students to apply knowledge learned in the classroom, gain real world experience, and develop professional contacts.
Students typically work part-time (10-15 hours per week) during the academic year and full-time in the summer months. Some earn academic credit, while others intern for the practical experience only. Internships may be paid or unpaid, although compensated internships attract more applicants.
Employers can volunteer their time to serve as a mentor to a Millikin University student. Mentors can serve a variety of student needs including job shadowing, informational interviewing, or hosting mock interviews.
We offer a variety of options for you to sponsor campus career-related activities and educational programs, either through the Career Center or directly with various student organizations.
