LV Academy Experience (summer)

The Long-Vanderburg Leadership Academy’s focus is to empower students to be passionate and intentional in their journey to develop their personal, academic, social and professional skills as an undergraduate student and scholar at Millikin University. Student Involvement Fair (fall)

The Student Involvement Fair is a GREAT way to get to know the 90 student organizations at Millikin! Every organization will be given one table to display items, and an opportunity to bring along 1-3 members to the event to get to know potential members. Additionally, Decatur community members will be included in this fair.

MU Leads (spring)

A new authentic leadership series that challenges participants to explore their unique leadership style, harness their potential, and perform leadership in every facet of life. It’s about discovery and application. There is always something to learn about being a dynamic leader. MU LEADS will engage participants with powerful presenters who have learned from life experience. It’s about seeing, trying, doing, and risking to be a relevant leader. MU LEADS supports lifelong learners in shaping the future of leadership. Conversation on Race (spring)

Millikin University, in conjunction with Richland Community College and Decatur Public School District 61 has provided a two-part series addressing race relations in the Decatur community. These events take place in the spring semester and are free and open to the public. Emerging Greek Leadership Retreat (fall)

The Emerging Greek Leadership Retreat is a three day leadership program that provides our fraternity and sorority community with the opportunity to critically explore their own leadership experience as well as the value added in the Millikin community. To assist with delivering the message, we welcome regional/national representatives from our organizations to facilitate. Leadership Series (fall / spring)

The Leadership Series provides student leaders and organizations with the opportunity to explore a variety of different topics. Whether you want to learn more about budget management, group dynamics, or how to lead effectively this series is a great way to develop your skills further. Risk Management Training (fall / spring)

Risk Management training is required each semester for recognized student organizations. This 90 minute presentation addresses how to deal with difficult situations as a student organization as well as the untended harm that occurs through failing to hold members accountable.
