Millikin University, Kirkland Fine Arts Center, 1184 W Main Street, Decatur Il 62522

This event offers talented high school musicians a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and be inspired while rehearsing and performing with peers from around the region. Students will gain experience playing for a renowned collegiate conductor and working with expert Millikin faculty instrumentalists. This year's conductor is Corey Seapy, the new Director of Bands at Millikin University. Dr. Seapy has spent the last decade working with a variety of high school, university, and adult bands in Massachusetts, New York, and Missouri, and is excited to join the rich musical community in Decatur.

A full day of rehearsals and workshops will culminate in a spectacular Finale Concert in the Kirkland Fine Arts Center featuring the Honor Band, the Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and special guest soloist Prof. Robert Sears, Professor of Trumpet at Millikin University.

Directors are invited to nominate up to eight students to participate in the Honor Band. Students will be selected based on experience, recommendations, and grade level. Directors are cordially invited to attend two special clinics by Millikin faculty members, rehearsals throughout the day, an open rehearsal with the MSWE, lunch, and the Finale Concert!
