Millikin alumni return to campus to perform on the Kirkland stage along with the Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble.  Join fellow alumni during Homecoming weekend 2017 to celebrate Dr. Gary Shaw’s 36 years of conducting, performing, and teaching at Millikin University.

Veterans Day Salute

Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble, featuring faculty soprano, Ann Borders, and guest conductor, Colonel (Ret) Thomas Rotondi, Jr., Former Leader and Commander, The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own”, Washington, DC.

Colonel (Ret) Thomas Rotondi, Jr. retired from the United States Army in 2011 following a distinguished 34-year military career culminating as the eighth Leader and Commander of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in Washington, DC.  A 1974 Millikin graduate, he was awarded the Millikin Alumni Merit Award in 2007.

Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Amy Catron, faculty cellist.

A musician in high demand, Amy Catron is principal cellist of Sinfonia da Camera, Assistant Principal Cellist with Illinois Symphony, and has appeared in numerous festivals including InterHarmony International Chamber Festival (Italy) and Artistic Director of the International Chamber Music Festival (Bulgaria). Catron teaches applied cello, music theory, lower string methods, and university studies at Millikin University.
