Fall 2020 Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble Auditions
Membership in the MSWE is open to all Millikin students, regardless of major, by blind audition.
Auditions for all wind and brass students will be held in Kirkland Fine Arts Center, on stage and in room 136, on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 11am-6pm. A digital sign-up sheet for specific times will be distributed via email on Monday, August 17, by noon, and posted on this site. Unfortunately, the Welcome Back Pizza Party has been canceled this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The schedule below contains links to download and print wind and brass audition music. Percussion auditions will take place on Saturday, August 22; materials and times will be distributed by the percussion faculty and posted at the Percussion House. All students planning to participate in Symphonic Wind Ensemble are required to audition. The MSWE rehearses on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:00-4:45pm. Students must register for MO 122 or 322 to participate (1 credit - ensemble overload/tuition waivers available).
The first rehearsal of the Fall 2020 semester will take place on Monday, August 24. Fall 2020 will feature a variety of mixed chamber ensembles to allow for social distancing in rehearsal and performance. Performances will be recorded and/or live streamed via YouTube.
