Current employment: Athletic director/head football coach at Rochelle Township High School (RTHS) in Rochelle, Ill.

  • Second-team Kodak All-American (1984)
  • Team captain (1984)
  • Team MVP (1984)

Why did you choose MU?
Tim Ruwe, 1979 MU alum, was my high school coach.

Aside from Big Blue athletics, what activities did you participate in as a student at MU?

  • Delta Sigma Phi fraternity

What was your most memorable moment as a Millikin student-athlete?
The 19-16 loss to Augustana in 1984.     

What are some of your accomplishments since graduating from Millikin University?
I was inducted into the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2012.         

When not supporting the Big Blue, what is your favorite thing to do?
Working with the athletes at RTHS.

Who is your most memorable MU professor/coach/staff and why?
Carl Poelker had a profound impact on my life and very much impacted my coaching.      

How has your experience as a Big Blue athlete prepared/helped make you successful?
My experience at MU shaped the way I have coached for the last 31 years. I have been blessed to be able to pass those lessons on to my players.

What advice do you give to current Millikin students about preparing for life after graduation?
The people you meet at Millikin and the experiences you have there will give you a great foundation for the future. The key is finding something you are passionate about and pursuing it.
