As passionate supporters of the performing arts, Dr. Randy Rentfro and Dr. Ron Lennon have a special interest in the power of arts to shape a community. For this reason, they have committed their support to Millikin University’s Center for Theatre & Dance. Randy and Ron have given $50,000 to name the office of the director of the School of Theatre & Dance and an additional $30,000 to name a faculty office. Their investment reflects their belief in the theatre and dance programs at the University and their desire to see those programs flourish well into the future.

Randy earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Millikin in 1978. He also holds a master’s of accounting science from the University of Illinois and a doctorate in accounting from Florida Atlantic University. Ron has a bachelor’s degree in theatre administration from Long Island University, an MBA from the University of Baltimore and a doctorate in marketing from the University of Maryland. Both Randy and Ron have taught at the university level at a variety of institutions. As educators, they understand the importance of the strong foundation that the Center for Theatre & Dance will provide to Millikin students.

Randy has served on Millikin’s board of trustees since 2011 and is proud of the national ranking and reputation of the University’s musical theatre program. As a trustee, he is very aware of the program’s needs and has been an advocate of the new Center from its earliest planning stages.

Randy and Ron believe that the new facility opens up a world of opportunities for SoTAD students, not just for performance majors, but also for students interested in the myriad of other professional skills required to successfully stage a production. The commitment that Randy and Ron have made represents their willingness to partner with Millikin and help enhance the University’s reputation in the world of theatre.
