From Student to Professor

Ben Cohan, BFA 2006, went on to receive his MFA in Painting and Drawing from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Ben is Assistant Professor of Art at Lakeland College in Mattoon Illinois. Ben has exhibited his artwork throughout the Midwest. http://mbencohan.com/home.html


Artists as Entreprenuers


I am a 2006 Millikin University philosophy and political science double major and a James Millikin Scholar in the Honors Program. I earned numerous awards honoring my academic achievements during my time at Millikin, including membership in Alpha Lambda Delta. Perhaps most impressively, I was honored at the spring 2006 Honors Convocation with a Scovill Award, the highest academic honor that Millikin University bestows on its students.

Nate is an Agent Trainee at The William Morris Agency (WMA) in Nashville, TN. WMA is one of the largest talent and literary agencies in the world dealing with all aspects of the entertainment industry including music, film, television, theatre, literature, and consulting. Nate currently assists a Senior Agent in booking concerts for clients in venues across the Northeast United States.

I focus my practice in the defense of medical malpractice. In addition, I represent clients in commercial litigation, general litigation, real estate, creditor collections and estate planning matters.


 

Following graduation, Jessica assumed a long-term substitute position for the spring of 2006 at Waukegan High School in Illinois. In the fall of 2006, she began teaching full time at Friendship Jr. High School in Des Plaines, IL. At Friendship Jr. High School she teaches general music and drama in addition to directing the school’s three curricular choirs, and their new extra-curricular ensemble, The Firebird Singers, which has received First Place or Division I ratings at all of their

I graduated summa cum laude from Millikin 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science. While at Millikin I participated in the Honors Program and was inducted into Alpha Lamda Delta and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. In addition, I was an RA and involved in several student organizations including the newly formed Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow group. At graduation, I received the Millikin Alumni Association Outstanding Alumni Scholarship Recipient.
