CAROLINE BROWN TINKHAM ObituaryMemorial for Caroline Brown Tinkham ’51

Caroline Brown Tinkham died peacefully in her sleep in the home she loved on November 15, 2017. She graduated from Millikin University and moved to Boston where she earned a masters degree in social work and counseling from Simmons College. It was in Boston that she met her future husband, William K. Tinkham, a history professor at a local college. He preceded her in death in 2009. For many years Caroline practiced her profession at Mass General. She is survived by her sister, Owsley Brown Thunman of Springfield, IL and her two nephews, Miles Blunt of Avondale, PA and Chris Blunt of New York City. Another sister, Catherine Brown Blunt died in 1987. Caroline was a wise and courageous woman with an abundance of charm and a touching appreciation for the small pleasures in daily life. Her family and friends were privileged to have known and loved her. She is buried next to her Bill in New Bedford, MA.
